UAB Accreditation Tips and Tools — November 2014
Looking for a Chapter Program/Speakers? Consider Inviting Someone From the UAB.
If your Chapter needs a program idea or a guest speaker, consider having someone from the Universal Accreditation Board to offer perspectives on the Accreditation / APR process. UAB members are well versed in APR and are able to answer many different questions about the process, while debunking any myths. And APR provides a great topic for a Chapter meeting. Contact Kathy Mulvihill today to find out how you can locate a local UAB member to support your event.
Start 2015 With a Call to Action Among Your Members
January is the best time to start members of your Chapter or participating organization thinking about getting their APR in 2015.
• Make sure you make an announcement at your first professional development program of the year about the APR process.
• Download information at www.praccreditation.org/resources/ to hand out to any member who is interested.
• You can even include this link — https://accreditation.prsa.org/ — in your electronic newsletter.
Let’s make 2015 the year to DOUBLE the number of APR candidates!
End the Year With a “Big 50” Bang
There’s still time to get the pop-up trade show booth and celebrate 50 years of public relations Accreditation — all before New Year’s Eve!
If your Chapter or participating organization is planning a holiday party or the last professional development session of the year, contact Kathy Mulvihill to reserve the booth. The booth is FREE for you to use. All you have to cover is shipping costs. Over 30 groups have held a 50th APR anniversary celebration in 2014, and you’ve got time to get your group on board!
Thank a Mentor
Do you have someone who was or is especially meaningful to you in your pursuit of Accreditation? If so, take a moment to let that person know about his/her impact on your life. Also, share with others about the influence that person has had on you. Then pay it forward by becoming a mentor to someone in the Accreditation process.
